Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Red Chili Prices Up, Bird''s Eye Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (September 21, 2025) at 3:06 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 13 increased and 10 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include medium rice, curly red chili, pure beef, dry soybean seeds (imported), and corn at the farmer level.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as garlic bulbs, skipjack tuna, SPHP rice, packaged wheat flour, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Large red chili saw the highest jump of Rp2,167 (3.11%) to Rp71,917 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red bird''s eye chili dropped the deepest by Rp2,610 (4.96%) to Rp50,029 per kg.
