Number of Hotels and Accommodation Businesses in Indonesia Increased in 2025

According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 34,702 hotels and other accommodation establishments in Indonesia in 2025.

This figure comprises 4,790 star-rated hotels and 29,912 other accommodation units, such as inns, tourist lodges, bungalows, cottages, and so forth.

Overall, the total number of hotels and other accommodations in 2025 increased by 3,527 units or grow by 11% compared to 2024, reaching a record high in recent years.

"This surge reflects a strong expansion in the hospitality sector, likely influenced by increasing tourism activity, private investment, and government policy support in encouraging the growth of the accommodation industry," BPS stated in its report.

"This trend indicates a continuously developing economic potential that is increasingly attractive to business actors in the tourism and accommodation sectors," it continued.

In 2025, the most hotels and other types of accommodation located in Bali, totaling 5,804 units.

It is followed by East Java with 4,004 units, West Java with 3,654 units, Central Java with 2,433 units, and DI Yogyakarta with 2,291 units.

"This indicates a strong and sustained agglomeration of accommodation activities in these regions," BPS said.
