Food Prices Today (21/1) in East Java: Bird's Eye Chili Up, Onions Down

The prices of several food items in East Java today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

According to data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Wednesday (January 21, 2026) at 17.13 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 4 increased and 4 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices were red bird's eye chili, bulk granulated sugar, curly red chili, and broiler chicken meat.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as beef hindquarter, broiler eggs, shallots, and large red chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red bird's eye chili saw the highest increase of Rp1,030 (2.68%) to Rp39,439 per kg. Shallot prices experienced the deepest decrease of Rp485 (1.41%) to Rp33,939 per kg.
