Sumatra Barat Food Prices Tuesday (8/4): Red Chili, Cooking Oil, and Salt Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Tuesday (8/4/2025) at 14:35 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, packaged wheat flour, curly red chilies, skipjack tuna, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, large red chilies, Minyakita (branded cooking oil), red chilies, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp2,201 (4.19%) to Rp54,762 per kg. Large red chilies experienced the largest price decrease of Rp16,200 (21.6%) to Rp58,800 per kg.
