Latest Food Prices in East Java: Salt Up, Fish Down (Thursday, November 23, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (23/11/2023) at 12:25 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase, up 4.51% or Rp430 to Rp9,970 per kg.

Next, red chili and red cayenne pepper prices increased by 3.51% or Rp2,320 to Rp68,410 per kg and 2.48% or Rp2,120 to Rp87,750 per kg, respectively.

The price of shallots increased by Rp370 or 1.45% to Rp25,920 per kg, milkfish increased by Rp400 or 1.18% to Rp34,350 per kg, and chicken eggs increased by Rp270 or 1.03% to Rp26,570 per kg.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as Indian mackerel, simple packaged cooking oil, skipjack tuna, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of Indian mackerel decreased by 6.76% or Rp2,320 to Rp32,010 per kg, the lowest price decrease today in East Java.

The price of simple packaged cooking oil was recorded at Rp15,810 per liter, down 2.23%, the price of skipjack tuna decreased to Rp32,380 per kg from Rp32,840 per kg, and the price of bulk cooking oil decreased by Rp170 to Rp14,500 per liter.
