Current Indonesian Food Prices: Oil Up, Onions Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (8/5/2024) at 16.24 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, bulk cooking oil, milkfish, skipjack tuna, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, dry soybean (import), shallots, and iodized fine salt have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices saw the highest increase, jumping by Rp240 (0.76%) to Rp31,950 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level saw the lowest decrease, dropping by Rp1,600 (21.68%) to Rp5,780 per kg.
