Current Food Prices in East Java: Chili Prices Rise, Onion Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (18/9/2024) at 09.21 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include chicken eggs, bulk cooking oil, SPHP rice, iodized fine salt, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, garlic bulbs, bulk wheat flour, mackerel, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp3,720 (17.36%) to Rp25,150 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of farmer-level corn decreased the most sharply by Rp400 (7.14%) to Rp5,200 per kg.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp31,620 per kg (up 6.75%)
7. Red Chili Peppers: Rp30,950 per kg (down 1.28%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp25,580 per kg (up 1.15%)
9. Curly Red Chili: Rp25,150 per kg (up 17.36%)
10. Red Onion: Rp20,240 per kg (down 5.51%)
