Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Oil and Chili Prices Drop

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (16/10/2025) at 08:01 AM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 9 increased and 15 decreased.

Commodities with price increases were mackerel, fresh buffalo meat (local), packaged wheat flour, SPHP rice, and curly red chili.

Meanwhile, prices for several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, red bird's eye chili, shallots, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chili recorded the highest increase of Rp14,866 (18.95%) to Rp93,333 per kg. The price of red bird's eye chili saw the deepest drop of Rp50,100 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.
