Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Prices of Salt, Sugar, and Chilies Rise

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (14/8/2024) at 16.13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, simple packaged cooking oil, pure beef, premium rice, and farmer-level corn.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, bulk cooking oil, garlic bulbs, mackerel, and curly red chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers saw the highest price increase at Rp7,690 (14.47%) to Rp60,820 per kg. Mackerel experienced the largest price decrease at Rp4,350 (9.25%) to Rp42,660 per kg.
