Chicken Meat Prices in Modern Markets for the Period March 2025-2026

Based on the latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel, the daily chicken meat price in modern markets of North Sumatra province is recorded at Rp36.4 thousand per kg. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, as has been the case over the past week.

Compared to the past month, the daily chicken meat price in modern markets has increased from the previously recorded Rp36 thousand per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily chicken meat price in modern markets in North Sumatra over the past three months has decreased by 4.71%. According to historical food price records from the PIHPS price panel, the daily chicken meat price in modern markets of North Sumatra province was traded at Rp38.2 thousand per kg.

The record increase in daily chicken meat prices in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in September 2023 with a 36.58% rise, and the lowest decrease was also recorded in September 2023 with a -28.74% drop.

According to PIHPS monitoring, today's prices of nine staple foods in North Sumatra show that three commodities have decreased while 23 others have increased. The staple foods with price decreases are Fresh Layer Chicken Eggs, Fresh Broiler Chicken Meat, and Chicken Eggs.
