Indonesia's Food Prices on Saturday (25/5): Salt Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (25/5/2024) at 13.37 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, medium rice, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), livestock-grade corn, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as mackerel fish, broiler chicken, red chilies, bulk cooking oil, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Livestock-grade corn experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp30 (0.53%) to Rp5,660 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers saw the lowest price decrease, down by Rp280 (0.63%) to Rp43,890 per kg.
