Food Prices Today (17/12) in Indonesia: Onion and Red Chili Prices Drop

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Necessity Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Wednesday (17/12/2025) at 2:19 PM WIB, out of 16 commodities, 1 commodity increased and 6 commodities decreased.

The only commodity that saw a price increase was hind shank beef.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken meat, Honan garlic, curly red chili, large red chili, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Hind shank beef saw the highest jump of Rp100 (0.07%) to Rp140,900 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chili fell most sharply by Rp500 (0.85%) to Rp58,300 per kg.

7. Honan Garlic: Rp38,400 per kg (down 0.26%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp33,800 per kg (stable)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp22,300 per liter (stable)
10. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp18,200 per kg (stable)
11. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (stable)
