Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Onion Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (8/5/2024) at 16:45 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, broiler chicken meat, iodized fine salt, simple packaged cooking oil, and garlic bulbs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, dry soybean (import), mackerel, medium rice, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of skipjack tuna increased the most by Rp230 (0.85%) to Rp27,200 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chili peppers decreased the most by Rp2,260 (5.29%) to Rp40,480 per kg.
