Current Food Prices in Indonesia: Red Chili Up, Onions Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today were observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (August 13, 2025) at 09:34 AM WIB, out of 25 commodities, 4 commodities increased and 21 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases include large red chili, mackerel, red bird's eye chili, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red onion, garlic bulb, dried soybean (imported), farmer-level corn, and packaged wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chili saw the highest increase of Rp622 (1.43%) to Rp44,132 per kg. Meanwhile, red onion prices experienced the sharpest decline of Rp4,095 (7.51%) to Rp50,415 per kg.
