Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID growth recorded a 4.2% decline.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 173,170, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp151.2 million/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 38th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, the manufacturing industry is the leading sector.

**Distribution of GRDP in Bintan Regency in 2023**
By distribution level, the manufacturing sector contributed the largest share to Bintan Regency's GRDP growth, accounting for 39.82%. The other top five sectors are construction, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and accommodation and food service activities.
The sectors with the smallest distribution are Health and Social Work Services, Other Service Activities, Electricity and Gas Supply, Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling, and Corporate Services.
