Ministry of Environment and Forestry: Number of Hotspots in Indonesia Reached 1,134 in the Last 24 Hours (Saturday, September 6, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), the last 24-hour monitoring showed 1,134 hotspots detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 289 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Saturday (September 6, 2025) at 11:35 AM WIB. Of the 1,134 detected hotspots, 16 points had a high hotspot confidence level, 947 points had a medium scale, and 171 points had a low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. A low scale has a range of 0 - 29, a medium scale 30 - 79, and a high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The most detected hotspots were in East Nusa Tenggara with 524 points. West Nusa Tenggara ranked second with 148 hotspots. South Sulawesi was in the third position with 101 hotspots.

A total of 90 hotspots were detected in East Java, followed by West Kalimantan with 55 hotspots, and Southeast Sulawesi and South Sumatra each had 46 and 26 detected hotspots, respectively.

Hotspots are coordinate points of an area that have a higher surface temperature compared to their surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires for large areas.
