The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded four districts/cities in West Sumatra with a weekly average vaccination rate above the provincial average of 1,375.11 doses as of Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
The average vaccination rate for the top three districts/cities, all exceeding 2,000 doses, were Padang Pariaman (3,165 doses), Lima Puluh Kota (2,025 doses), and Pesisir Selatan (1,766 doses).
Padang Pariaman ranked first with a weekly average vaccination rate of 3,165 doses. Vaccine usage up to yesterday was recorded at 279,180 doses. Based on the national dashboard recapitulation, the complete vaccination rate in this region has reached 61.2 percent.
According to the Ministry of Health, the available vaccine stock in this district will run out in the next 40 days. This remaining usage period is calculated based on the remaining stock of 129,680 doses, and vaccine usage is the highest in West Sumatra.
Following Padang Pariaman is Lima Puluh Kota with a vaccination rate of 2,025 doses. The available vaccine stock in this district will run out in the next 14 days. This remaining usage period is calculated based on the available stock of 29,498 doses.
In addition to these two regions, the top five for average weekly vaccination rates also include Pesisir Selatan (1,766 doses and 60.56% complete vaccination rate), Pasaman (1,520 doses and 76.32% complete vaccination rate), and Tanah Datar (1,250 doses and 65.95% complete vaccination rate).
Areas outside Java with the highest average vaccination rates include Simalungun (7,506 doses), Rokan Hulu (6,305 doses), and Lampung Tengah (6,083 doses).
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
