Indramayu Residents' Food Consumption Inadequacy Rate Rose by 5.46% in 2024

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of food inadequacy (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Indramayu Regency, West Java reached 5.46% in 2024.

This figure increased by 0.06% from the previous year's 5.4%, while in the last 5 years, it rose by 1.35%.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Indramayu Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess the condition of food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 5.46% of the total population in Indramayu Regency consumes food but has insufficient energy needs.
