776 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Saturday, November 1, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 776 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 207 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of satellite imagery from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA, accessed on Saturday (November 1, 2025) at 11:53 AM WIB. Of the 776 detected hotspots, 14 points had a high confidence level, 724 points were medium scale, and 38 points were low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. The low scale ranges from 0 - 29, the medium scale from 30 - 79, and the high scale from 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The highest number of detected hotspots were in South Sumatra, with 111 points. North Sumatra ranked second with 106 hotspots. Bengkulu was in third place with 74 hotspots.

As many as 65 hotspots were detected in Bangka Belitung Islands, followed by West Sumatra with 59 hotspots, and Jambi and East Nusa Tenggara each having 45 and 41 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is a coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires over large areas.
