According to the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from Indonesia's Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 609 hotspots across Indonesia. This count decreased by 48 hotspots compared to the prior monitoring period.

This data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Monday (22/6/2026) at 11:39 WIB. Out of the 609 detected hotspots: 12 had high confidence level, 576 medium confidence, and 21 low confidence.

Hotspot confidence is classified into 3 scales: low (0-29), medium (30-79), high (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence means greater probability of active forest or land fire in the area.

The most hotspots were recorded in South Papua with 84 points, followed by East Kalimantan with 82, and South Sumatra with 72 hotspots.

42 hotspots were detected in North Maluku, 35 in Maluku, while South Sulawesi and South Kalimantan recorded 31 and 30 hotspots respectively.

A hotspot is a coordinate point showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; this does not directly equal the number of fire incidents. However, clustered high hotspot concentrations indicate active forest/land fires, making satellite hotspot detection the most effective method for large-area fire monitoring.
