Food Consumption Insufficiency Rate of Tanjung Jabung Barat Residents Decreased by 13.9% in 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of food inadequacy (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi reached 13.9% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.42% from the previous year''s 14.32%, while in the last 5 years, it increased by 3.25%.

Indonesia''s average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity conditions.

This means that the population in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency who consumes food but has insufficient energy does not exceed 13.9% of the total population.
