Tapin Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Rate Drops by 2.76% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan reached 2.76% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.29% from the previous year's 3.05%, while over the last 5 years it has dropped by 0.05%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that Tapin Regency's PoU is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that Tapin Regency residents who consume food but do not meet their energy needs account for no more than 2.76% of the total population.

Compared to the other 12 regencies/cities in South Kalimantan Province, Tapin Regency ranks 3rd in terms of PoU. The regions with the lowest PoU (top ranks) are Tanah Bumbu Regency (2.48%) and the highest (last rank) is Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency (6.16%).
