Food Consumption Inadequacy Rate for Sukabumi City Residents Increased by 5.57% in 2024

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of food inadequacy (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Sukabumi City, West Java, reached 5.57% in 2024.

This figure increased by 0.34% from the previous year's 5.23%, while in the last 5 years it has increased by 2.65%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Sukabumi City is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This implies that less than 5.57% of Sukabumi City's residents consume food but do not meet their energy requirements.
