Israel has continued to launch attacks on numerous public facilities in Palestine, including mosques, churches, schools, and hospitals.
These attacks have sharply escalated since the Hamas militant group fired rockets into Israeli territory on October 7, 2023.
Most recently, an Israeli missile struck the al-Fakhoora school, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), in the Jabalia refugee camp on Saturday morning local time (November 4, 2023).
According to *Al Jazeera*, since the war began, al-Fakhoora school has served as a shelter for thousands of people in Gaza who were forced to flee their homes after they were bombed by Israel.
The attack on al-Fakhoora is the third major attack on the Jabalia refugee camp area. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 15 people were killed and 54 injured in this incident.
"The (death) toll is expected to rise," said Al-Shifa Hospital Director Muhammad Abu Silmeyeh, as reported by *Al Jazeera* on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Previously, Israeli forces also attacked the electricity generator and solar panels at al-Wafa Hospital in Gaza City.
This attack on the hospital followed Israeli soldiers attacking the entrance to al-Shifa Hospital, the area around al-Quds Hospital, and the area around the Indonesian Hospital.
Separately, *Anadolu Agency* also reported that on Saturday, November 4, 2023, Israeli soldiers bombed two mosques in southern Gaza: the Ali bin Abi Thalib mosque and the Al-Istijabah mosque.
Tamer Qarmout, an assistant professor of public policy at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, stated that these attacks on public facilities are part of Israel's war strategy.
"So what they (the Israeli army) are doing is depriving the livelihoods of civilians trapped in northern Gaza. So they hit water tanks, attack civilian facilities, hospitals, and even UNRWA schools where people have taken refuge. Soon, people will have no choice but to go south," said Tamer.
Tamer said that although the Israeli army has ordered civilians in Gaza City and northern Gaza to move south, many remain because there is no safe passage.
"People are trying to flee south, but the roads have been bombed. How can they feel safe if there is no humanitarian corridor to the south?" said Tamer.
