Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 24,466 hotspots across Indonesia. This figure represents an increase of 2,732 hotspots compared to the previous period.

This data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Sunday (30/8/2026) at 11:37 WIB. Of the total detected hotspots: 2,368 are high confidence level, 21,070 medium confidence, and 1,028 low confidence.

Hotspot confidence is classified into 3 tiers: low (0-29), medium (30-79), and high (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater probability of active forest and land fires in that location.

Central Kalimantan recorded the highest count at 8,967 hotspots, followed by West Kalimantan with 8,911, and East Kalimantan at 1,618.

Additional detected counts include: 1,178 in South Kalimantan, 946 in South Sumatra, 358 in North Kalimantan, and 296 in East Nusa Tenggara.

Hotspots are geographic coordinates showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas, and do not directly equal the number of fire incidents.

However, dense clusters of hotspots reliably indicate active forest and land fires. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-scale wildfire monitoring across Indonesia.
