Gunung Mas Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Rate Drops 4.46% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan was 4.46% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 1.35% from the previous year's 5.81%, while over the last 5 years it has dropped by 1.14%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that Gunung Mas Regency's PoU is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that Gunung Mas Regency residents who consume food but lack sufficient energy needs make up no more than 4.46% of the total population.

Compared to the other 13 regencies/cities in Central Kalimantan Province, Gunung Mas Regency ranks first in the lowest PoU. The area with the highest PoU (last rank) is Kapuas Regency (15.41%).
