The World Bank updated its global poverty lines in June 2025. The calculation is based on the 2021 purchasing power parities (PPP).

Three poverty lines were revised. First, the international poverty line, which also defines extreme poverty, increased from $2.15 to $3.00 per person per day.

Second, the lower-middle-income country poverty line increased from $3.65 to $4.20. Third, the upper-middle-income country poverty line, which includes Indonesia, increased from $6.85 to $8.30.
