Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Sarolangun Reached 9.89% in 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of food inadequacy (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Sarolangun Regency, Jambi, was 9.89% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 2.88% from the previous year''s 12.77%, while in the last 5 years, it increased by 1.09%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Sarolangun Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that residents in Sarolangun Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy do not reach 9.89% of the total population.
