The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded three districts/cities in South Sulawesi with weekly average vaccinations above the provincial average of 1,222.33 doses as of Monday, May 23, 2022.
The three top districts/cities with average vaccination figures above 2,000 doses are Gowa, Bone, and Jeneponto, with 2,489 doses, 2,471 doses, and 2,181 doses respectively.
Gowa ranks first with a weekly average vaccination of 2,489 doses. As of yesterday, a total of 758,240 doses have been used. Based on national dashboard data, the complete vaccination rate in this region has reached 57.21 percent.
According to the Ministry of Health, the available vaccine stock in this district will run out in 27 days. This remaining usage period is calculated based on the available stock of 69,158 doses, and vaccine usage is the highest in South Sulawesi.
Bone follows in second place. The complete vaccination rate in this district has reached 63.55 percent. Compared to the previous week, the weekly average vaccination in this district reached 2,471 doses. Vaccination in this district is reported to be lower. The daily average weekly vaccination statistics remain unchanged compared to the previous day.
Next is Jeneponto with a weekly average vaccination of 2,181 doses. The complete vaccination coverage has reached 48.98 percent. The weekly average vaccination in Bulukumba is 1,082 doses and complete vaccination coverage is 55.62%, while Maros has 1,076 doses and complete vaccination coverage of 53.13%.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest average vaccination rates include Simalungun, Rokan Hulu, and Lampung Tengah, with average vaccinations of 7,506 doses, 6,305 doses, and 6,083 doses respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
