69.8% of Bengkulu's Population was of Working Age in June 2021

The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs recorded that the population of Bengkulu was 2.03 million in June 2021. Of this number, 1.42 million (69.82%) were in the productive age group (15-64 years).

There were also 613,390 (30.18%) people in the province whose capital city is Bengkulu, who were in the unproductive age group. This comprised 515,870 (25.38%) people in the non-productive age group (0-14 years) and 97,520 (4.8%) in the unproductive age group (65 years and over).

By gender, 1.04 million (51.12%) of Bengkulu's population were male, and 993,590 (48.88%) were female, recorded within 623,250 households (KK).

Based on marital status, 932,130 (45.86%) of Bengkulu's population were unmarried. 1.02 million (50.05%) were married, 22,160 (1.09%) were divorced, and 61,180 (3.01%) were widowed.

Bengkulu has an area of 19,919 square kilometers with a population density of 102 people per square kilometer. Administratively, the province is divided into 9 regencies and 1 city, with 129 districts, 1,341 villages, and 172 urban villages.
