Lampung's Human Development Index Shows Improvement in 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the Human Development Index (HDI) score for Lampung reached 69.9 in 2021. This figure increased by 0.78% compared to the previous year's achievement of 69.69.

From 2010 to 2021, the HDI score for Lampung showed an upward trend with an average increase of 0.84% per year. However, Lampung's HDI score remains below the national average of 72.29 in 2021.

Bandar Lampung City had the highest HDI score in Lampung, at 77.58 in 2021. Meanwhile, Mesuji Regency had the lowest HDI score in Lampung, at 64.04 in 2021.

In detail, the increase in Lampung's HDI this year occurred across all dimensions. The decent living dimension, measured by average real per capita expenditure per year, increased by 0.56% to Rp 10.03 million in 2021.

In the education dimension, life expectancy at school entry (HLS) for 7-year-olds increased by 0.63% to 12.73 years in 2021. Meanwhile, the average years of schooling for the population aged 25 and over increased by 0.37% to 8.08 years.

The long and healthy life dimension, measured by life expectancy (LE), was recorded at 70.73 years in 2021. This figure increased by 0.11% compared to 2020, which was 70.65 years.
