Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Mojokerto City Reaches 4.33% in 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Mojokerto City, East Java, was 4.33% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.85% from the previous year's 5.18%, while in the last 5 years, it increased by 0.1%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that Mojokerto City's PoU is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 4.33% of the total population in Mojokerto City consumes food but has insufficient energy needs.
