Higher income correlates with higher levels of happiness.

The 2021 Happiness Index report by BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik) shows a positive correlation between household income and individual happiness levels.

Individuals with incomes below Rp 1.8 million reported a happiness level of 67.99. Those with incomes between Rp 1.8 million and Rp 3 million reported a happiness level of 70.8.

The happiness level increased to 72.92 for those with incomes between Rp 3 million and Rp 4.8 million. This trend continued for those earning between Rp 4.8 million and Rp 7.2 million, reaching a happiness level of 74.99.

Finally, individuals with incomes above Rp 7.2 million reported the highest happiness level, reaching 77.15.

Overall, the average happiness level in Indonesia in 2021 was 71.49. This indicates that Indonesians need a stable income above Rp 3 million to be happier than the national average.
