Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 141 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from the week of September 11, 2022, shows a national average of 0.51 tests per 1000 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per 1000 people per week, are South Jakarta (5.78 people), Central Jakarta (5.55 people), West Jakarta (3.98 people), South Tangerang (3.83 people), and Balikpapan (3.77 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 5.78 people tested per 1000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 9.37 percent, which is lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 5.55 people per 1000 people per week were tested. The positive rate in this area is 10.29 percent, also lower than the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Covid-19 testing in West Jakarta recorded 3.98 people per 1000 people per week. South Tangerang recorded 3.83 people per 1000 people per week, and Balikpapan, with a population of 646,020, recorded 3.77 people per 1000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 127 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 150 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Balikpapan, Badung, and Teluk Bintuni, with 3.77, 3.22, and 3.08 people tested per 1000 people per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
