This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Sukabumi City, Mimika, Surakarta City, and Tana Tidung, with percentages of 437.73 percent, 309.12 percent, 284.38 percent, 247.1 percent, and 228.57 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City is ranked first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 437.73 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.93 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Sukabumi City. The population in this region is recorded at 331,750. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 309.12 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.69 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the weekly testing percentage in Mimika is recorded at 284.38 percent; Surakarta City, with a population of 519,800, has a weekly testing percentage of 247.1 percent; and Tana Tidung recorded a testing percentage of 228.57 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 176 districts/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 173 other districts/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Tana Tidung, with weekly testing percentages of 437.73 percent, 284.38 percent, and 228.57 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission in some areas has decreased, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
