Today's COVID-19 Provincial Data Update: West Java Reports the Highest Increase (Wednesday, March 2, 2022)

Indonesia recorded an additional 40,920 Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 5.63 million as of Wednesday, March 2, 2022. The five provinces with the highest increases today are West Java, East Java, Jakarta, Central Java, and Yogyakarta.

The following are the provinces with the highest increase in Covid-19 cases today

1. West Java recorded an increase of 8,569 cases

West Java ranks first. The increase in cases here was 8,569, a 0.85% increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 1.01 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in West Java is now 1.02 million.

Unfortunately, in addition to recording a high number of new cases, West Java also recorded 39 deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths in West Java during the Covid-19 pandemic has reached 15,136.

Similarly, the positive rate in this region is lower than before. According to the Ministry of Health, the bed occupancy rate (BOR) for Covid-19 hospitals in this province is 44%.

2. East Java recorded an increase of 4,911 cases

Next is East Java. The increase in Covid-19 cases here was 4,911. The seven-day positive rate in this region is 14.79%. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested for Covid-19 in this province is recorded at 284.57 per week.
3. Jakarta recorded an increase of 4,196 cases

Third is Jakarta. In this province, the increase in cases today was 4,196, or a 0.36% increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 1.18 million.
