Based on national Covid-19 data, 160 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Wednesday, May 25, 2022, shows a national average of 1.37 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Lamongan, Badung, Supiori, South Jakarta City, and Balikpapan City, with respective figures of 9.82, 9.18, 8.93, 8.43, and 8.3 people tested per 1,000 people per week.
Lamongan ranks first, with 9.82 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 0.01 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Badung, with a population of 727,950. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 9.18 people per 1,000 were tested per week. The positive rate is 0.64 percent, higher than the previous week.
Following this, Supiori recorded 8.93 tests per 1,000 people per week; South Jakarta City recorded 8.43 tests per 1,000 people per week; and Balikpapan City recorded 8.3 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 27 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 359 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Badung (9.18 tests per 1,000 people per week), Supiori (8.93 tests per 1,000 people per week), and Balikpapan City (8.3 tests per 1,000 people per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
