To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, currently 148 regencies/cities are aggressively conducting specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Monday, July 11, 2022, shows the national average examination is 156.19 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Jombang (949 specimens), Kediri (942 specimens), Klaten (934 specimens), Sukoharjo (917 specimens), and Serang City (899 specimens).
Jombang ranks first, with 949 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.5 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Kediri, which examined 942 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 0.88 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Klaten recorded 934 specimens per week, Sukoharjo 917 specimens per week, and Serang City 899 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, 160 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively report a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 152 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, some regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Tarakan City, Manokwari, and Tanggamus, with 875, 865, and 851 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
