A report from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government recorded 4,467 Rukun Tetangga (RT) – neighborhood units – in COVID-19 high-risk zones in DKI Jakarta between August 29 and September 4, 2022. This comprised 8 RTs in the red zone, 161 RTs in the orange zone, and 4,298 RTs in the yellow zone.
West Jakarta had the highest number of RTs in COVID-19 high-risk zones in the capital, with 1,106 RTs: 1 RT in the red zone, 69 in the orange zone, and 1,036 in the yellow zone.
South Jakarta had 1,071 RTs in COVID-19 high-risk zones: 1 RT in the red zone, 22 in the orange zone, and 1,048 in the yellow zone.
East Jakarta had 842 RTs in COVID-19 high-risk zones: 1 RT in the red zone, 11 in the orange zone, and 830 in the yellow zone.
North Jakarta had 840 RTs in COVID-19 high-risk zones: 4 RTs in the red zone, 53 in the orange zone, and 783 in the yellow zone. Central Jakarta had 607 RTs in COVID-19 high-risk zones: 1 RT in the red zone, 6 in the orange zone, and 600 in the yellow zone. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands only had 1 RT in the yellow zone.
Although COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta have decreased, the province remains one of the highest contributors to national COVID-19 cases, reaching 1.39 million cases, or approximately 21.9% of the national total of 6.37 million cases.
Therefore, the public must remain disciplined in implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. Furthermore, the public is encouraged to receive booster vaccinations to prevent severe infection and death from COVID-19.
