COVID-19 Cases Increase by 329 (Saturday, April 30th)

COVID-19 positive cases increased by 329 people as of April 30, 2022. With this addition, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 6,046,796.

Meanwhile, 5,882,660 patients have recovered, and 156,257 have died.

The government urges the public to more actively implement health protocols due to the increasing spread of the Omicron variant in Indonesia. With this variant, the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia is feared to become even wider and more difficult to contain. This is despite the fact that the positive rate had decreased in most regions earlier this year.

Previously, during the first wave of COVID-19 last year, the highest daily increase in cases was recorded on July 15, 2021, at 56,757 cases. With the emergence of the Omicron variant, this record was then broken twice in February, with an increase of 57,049 cases on February 15 and 64,718 cases on February 16.
