To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 138 regencies/cities are currently aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data as of Monday, November 14, 2022, shows a national average of 0.44 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are Badung (6.04 people), South Jakarta (5.63 people), Central Jakarta (5.61 people), Balikpapan (4.36 people), and West Jakarta (3.9 people).
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, the number of people tested there is recorded at 6.04 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 8.34 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is South Jakarta. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested is 5.63 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate in this region is 25.5 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720, recorded 5.61 Covid-19 tests per 1,000 people per week; Balikpapan recorded 4.36 tests per 1,000 people per week; and West Jakarta recorded 3.9 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, 168 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 124 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Badung, Balikpapan, and Mimika, with 6.04, 4.36, and 2.18 people tested, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
