The Indonesian government will make a Covid-19 booster vaccine a requirement for entering shopping malls. The plan is for this rule to take effect at the latest next week.
"At the latest (the policy will be implemented) two weeks from July 5th. We'll just wait for the official announcement," said the Ministry of Health spokesperson, Mohammad Syahril, as quoted by Detikcom on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Previously, the Coordinator for the Java-Bali PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, also stated that booster vaccines would be a requirement for air, land, and sea travel, and various activities in public spaces.
Based on data from the Ministry of Health, the number of booster vaccine recipients in Indonesia had reached 52.02 million people as of 6 PM WIB on July 11, 2022.
This number is equivalent to 24.98% of the national Covid-19 vaccination target, which totals 208.26 million people.
The highest number of booster vaccine recipients is located on the island of Java, at 33.83 million people.
West Java still holds the top position with the highest number of booster vaccine recipients in both Java and nationally, reaching 12.64 million people. The highest number of residents in West Java who have received this third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine is in Bogor Regency with 1.48 million people. This is followed by Bandung Regency with 1.01 million people and Bekasi Regency with 823,390 people.
Next, the second highest achievement of booster vaccinations on the island of Java is in Central Java, with 6.99 million people. This is followed by East Java with 6.54 million people and DKI Jakarta with 4.16 million people.
