Indonesia's COVID-19 Testing: 259,560 Specimens per Day (Thursday, October 7, 2021)

Indonesia conducted 259,560 thousand COVID-19 specimen tests on Thursday, October 7, 2021. This number is lower than the previous day's testing. To date, a total of 40.85 million specimens have been examined.

The average number of specimens tested has increased. The average is 246,720 thousand specimens per day throughout October. In September, the average COVID-19 test was 223,730 thousand specimens per day.

The number of specimens tested includes antigen tests, Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests, and rapid molecular tests (TCM).

Meanwhile, the total number of people tested with RT-PCR as of Thursday, October 7, 2021, was 43,810, bringing the total to 15.61 million people. Compared to the population, the ratio is 57,350 people per one million inhabitants.

In addition to specimen testing, to suppress the spread of COVID-19, the government urges the public to more strictly implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, washing hands with soap, and maintaining distance and avoiding crowds.
