Average Years of Schooling for Banjarnegara Regency Residents Still Below National Average

The average years of schooling (AYS) for residents aged 25 years and over in Banjarnegara, Central Java, was 7.1 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the AYS for residents in the region is below the average for Central Java Province, which was 8.15 years in 2025.

The AYS for Banjarnegara residents increased by 0.23 years (3.35%) compared to the previous year, which was 6.87 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the AYS has increased by 0.36 years (5.34%).

This AYS indicates that the average Banjarnegara resident only attended school up to the 7th grade. However, this AYS is still below the national average AYS of 9.07 years in 2025.
