Average Length of Schooling of Indragiri Hulu Regency Residents Still Below National Average

The average length of schooling (ALS) for residents aged 25 years and over in Indragiri Hulu, Riau, reached 8.43 years in 2024.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ALS for residents in the region is below the Riau Province average, which reached 9.43 years in 2024.

The ALS for Indragiri Hulu residents increased by 0.01 years (0.12%) compared to the previous year, which was 8.42 years. Meanwhile, over the last five years, the ALS increased by 0.26 years (3.18%).

This ALS indicates that the average resident of Indragiri Hulu only attended school up to the 8th grade. However, this ALS is still below the national average ALS of 8.85 years in 2024.

Compared to 11 other regencies/cities in Riau Province, Indragiri Hulu''s ALS ranks 10th. Other regions in the province with the highest ALS include Pekanbaru City (11.96 years), while the lowest ALS is in Indragiri Hilir Regency (7.32 years).
