Prevalence of Undernourishment in Karang Asem Reaches 7.15% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of food inadequacy (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Karang Asem Regency, Bali was 7.15% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.42% from the previous year's 7.57%, while in the last 5 years, it increased by 0.44%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 7.89% in 2025. This means that the PoU in Karang Asem Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the population in Karang Asem Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy intake does not reach 7.15% of the total population.
