The highest increase in confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in East Kalimantan is currently in Bontang City, with 39.36 cases per 100,000 population per week as of Monday, August 22, 2022. This figure is more than double the number of cases in the next highest area.
However, despite being the highest, the number of Covid-19 transmissions in Bontang City has decreased compared to the previous week, which was at 55 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Next in second place is Balikpapan City, recording a weekly confirmation rate of 19.19 cases per 100,000 population. Compared to the previous week, which reached 24.77 cases, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases this week is lower.
Rounding out the top five, in addition to the two areas above, are Kutai Barat, Paser, and Mahakam Ulu, each recording weekly confirmations of five cases, three cases, and three cases respectively.
Other information from today's daily Covid-19 data statistics shows that 174 regencies/cities in Indonesia recorded a higher increase compared to the previous week, and 208 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly confirmations than the previous week.
