Not Jakarta: These Are the 10 Areas with the Cleanest Air Quality Tonight According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry

Sanggau, Indonesia had the cleanest air quality in the country last night. According to the air quality index from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Sanggau scored 21 on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 7:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time).

At that time, Sanggau's air quality was categorized as "good," indicating very minimal air pollutants. Mataram ranked second with an air quality index of 30, followed by Manado in third place with an index of 37.

Below is a complete list of the 10 cities with the cleanest air quality in Indonesia according to KLHK on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 7:00 PM WIB:

1. Sanggau (West Kalimantan): 21
2. Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara): 30
3. Manado (North Sulawesi): 37
4. Ambon (Maluku): 38
5. Mamuju (West Sulawesi): 40
6. Bulungan (North Kalimantan): 42
7. Indragiri Hilir (Riau): 43
8. Serang (Banten): 48
9. Rokan Hilir (Riau): 50
10. Jambi (Jambi): 52

While these cities had the cleanest air quality nationally, not all cities had good air quality.

Based on the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 14 of 2020 concerning the Air Pollutant Standard Index, KLHK classifies air quality index as follows:

* 51-100: Moderate
* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous

Therefore, on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 7:00 PM WIB, the cities with good air quality were Sanggau, Mataram, Manado, Ambon, Mamuju, Bulungan, Indragiri Hilir, Serang, and Rokan Hilir. Jambi had moderate air quality.
