The top five, starting from the highest, are Badung, Bandar Lampung City, Indramayu, Cirebon City, and Palangkaraya City, with weekly specimen numbers of 964, 953, 925, 904, and 893, respectively.
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, the number of specimens examined there is 964 per week. The latest positive rate is 1.67 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Bandar Lampung City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 953 per week. The positive rate in this region is 3.25 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined was 925 per week in Indramayu, 904 per week in Cirebon City, and 893 per week in Palangkaraya City.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 115 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 133 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Badung, Bandar Lampung City, and Palangkaraya City, with 964, 953, and 893 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
