30 Regions Still Show Low Mask Compliance Rates

The COVID-19 Task Force recorded that 30 regencies/cities still had low mask-wearing compliance rates between September 27 and October 3, 2021. These 30 regencies/cities had mask-wearing compliance rates below 60%.

In fact, three regions had a 0% mask-wearing compliance rate: Tegal Regency, North Maluku Regency, and Indragiri Hulu Regency.

Twenty-six regions had mask-wearing compliance rates ranging from 61% to 75%. Ninety-six regions had mask-wearing compliance rates ranging from 76% to 90%.

Nevertheless, the majority of regions in Indonesia have high mask-wearing compliance rates. A total of 218 regencies/cities had mask-wearing compliance rates ranging from 91% to 100%.

The COVID-19 Task Force monitored mask-wearing compliance among 8.32 million people across Indonesia. 1.15 million points were monitored by officers, including airports, stations, malls, offices, schools, tourist attractions, places of worship, and restaurants/cafes.

Mask use, especially double-masking or N95 masks, is crucial in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. In addition, the public is urged to maintain social distancing and wash their hands with soap.
